The first volume of series Studia z architektury nowoczesnej [Studies on modern architecture] published by the NCU Publishing House is available.
2002
The first number of semi-annual Pamiętnik Sztuk Pięknych [Fine arts diary], published by the NCU Publishing House. Till 2005 8 issues were published.
The first volume of series Sztuka Nowoczesna [Modern art] and Artystyczny Orient [Artistic Orient] published by the Neriton Publishing House in Warsaw.
The first publication of the Department edited by the DiG Publishing House in Warsaw.

The 1st Conference of Modern Art in Toruń: Art between 1905 and 1923: painting - sculpture – graphic art – art criticism, organized by the Department of History of Modern Art Faculty of Fine Arts Nicolaus Copernicus University and the Society of Modern Art, prepared by Dr. Małgorzata Geron, Prof. Jerzy Malinowski; on the first day of the conference a monograph exhibition, Tymon Niesiołowski, prepared by Dr. Geron in District Museum in Toruń was opened.

The 2nd Conference of Modern Art in Torun: The history of art criticism and art theory organized by organized by the Department of History of Modern Art Faculty of Fine Arts Nicolaus Copernicus University and the Society of Modern Art, prepared by Dr. Małgorzata Geron; Prof. Jerzy Malinowski.
Start to cooperation with the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage on the documentation and cataloguing of palaces and manor houses in the eastern part of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth - vol. I – Volhynia.

Society of Modern Art merged with the Polish Society of Oriental Art. In this way the Polish Institute of World Art Studies was formed in Warsaw with brunches in Cracow, Torun and Warsaw
